SDCC - Hasbro exclusives

San Diego Comic-Con generally has some of the best exclusive toys every year. But I think this year they are going to out do themselves this year! With a new G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover set -- and this one is EPIC.
The set has Snake Eyes and the Baroness with Ravage, with an Autobot and Decepticon insignia, respectively.

And even cooler, a Skystriker done up like the Autobot Jetfire / Rick Hunters Veritech Figher from Robotech!

There's a V.A.M.P. jeep painted to look like the Autobot Hound.

Busy, Busy Busy!

I know the blog has been pretty quite the last few weeks, but with spring finally here my free time is nearly none existent. On the Podcast front I have a few shows in the pipeline that I am prepping for and I will hopefully post the live play episode this weekend. So hang tight we aren't done with the show, we just got busy. More to come in the next couple weeks, including a new gaming table I plan on building at the end of the month.

On another front, convention season is upon us, we have SpringCon coming up on the 18th (I think) which I will be attending and hopefully getting a couple interviews for the show. I might hit Fallcon in October but not sure as of now. I am looking forward to next years convention season and I am planning on going to C2E2 in Chicago. Thats it for now, I will have more podcast news as I get things lined up.

RPG Finds!

Once again Half Price Books came through for me in a big way. I stopped by one location near me that rarely has any unique RPG books but I was going into withdrawal so I figured I would stop in and check. To my shock and excitement I found the original 1985 DCHEROES RPG Box Set. Now you may say " yeah whats your point? I've found used box sets before, whats the big deal?" The big deal is that this set has never been used! The box is in excellent shape, all of the player character cards are intact, even the plastic stands for the small card board characters (desktop combat miniatures) have never been separated. The GM screen and all of the books are perfect, no pen/pencil marks, tares or creases. They dont even look like they where opened. Got it for $35 -15% discount coupon

I also grabbed this supplement for the DC Universe RPG: Directive on Superpowers. This cool book gives you more powers to choose from for your character creation. I love these supplements. Thats it for this installment of cool stuff I found to increase my Horde!

Status of the podcast - Good to go!

Hi everyone, just wanted to send out a status update on the show. Things are looking good, we have 4 episodes recorded waiting for me to edit. "Women in gaming" is scheduled for next weekend, I know a few people have been waiting for me to finally post this one( im working on it). Also we have two episodes dedicated to character creation; AD&D and A song of fire and ice, I will most likely release one of these in March and one in April. In addition to those I have a Retro Comics episode that I am editing now and I will have it posted by Sunday night.

Here is the plan for our monthly release schedule:
Animation 101 - A look at a specific animated series
Retro Comics - D and I go back in time and talk about a random comic story line
Role playing Games - This episode will be dedicated to all thing RPG
Misc. episode - Interviews, tech, movies, tv discussions

The plan is to still have a 2 week release schedule but dont be surprised if I throw an extra show in if I have time to set one up.

Animation 101 and Retro comics:
These two will be our monthly dedicated episodes, so the plan will be to release a new show for each every month. If time permits we will be adding the RPG episodes as well.

I want to thank everyone who has been listening to the podcast for being patient. We are new to the podcasting world and I believe we have finally found a format that works on a regular basis. We are working on streamlining the show to get more of a consistent format. If you have any suggestions or comments please feel free too contact us. All feedback is appreciated.

Batman Beyond Unlimited

In the current Batman Beyond storyline by writer Adam Beechen and artist Norm Breyfogle, Bruce Wayne is dying. And a couple former, aged Robins have joined with Terry McGinnis to save the world from a new iteration of the Joker.

Batman Beyond takes place in the future of the DCU. Based on the animated series of the same name,  focusing on a young hero named Terry McGinnis who takes on the Batman identity under the mentorship of an aged Bruce Wayne.

As most of you know I love this series, it's beautifully drawn and extremely well written and it has a unique distribution format. Well it does have a digital format for .99 and a print copy that also includes Justice League Beyond and Superman Beyond for $3.99 (24 pages). As an added bonus, writer Adam Beechen has a youtube channel where he does a commentary on each new issue, You can check out Adams youtube channel here: Wayneincorperated
